Literalists say that world is only 6,000 years old, humans were made in God's image, a flood wiped out most of life and the Bible is infallible. Christian fundamentalists believe that homosexuality, birth control and witchcraft are evil. They trust faith healers and people who claim that they are prophets without questioning the evidence. It is this thinking that has people leaving Christianity for other religions as well as atheism.
